Meet Jennifer and Craig!! I love a good love story where it seems like life has been building you and bringing you together your whole lives. These two have that kind of love story and it is beautiful. While they both live in Phoenix and met here, they were both born and raised in Michigan. They are each others biggest support system and understand each other flawlessly. They are going through life and planning their future together in a way that perfectly fits their relationship. I love this about a lot of the couple I work with that they are doing what is best for their lives, their connecting and saying this is what fits us and makes us feel the best.
Jennifer and Craig went on a fantastic trip together in Europe and were thinking of getting engaged there if they were to find the right ring during their trip. The did not find the right ring so the proposal was going to wait. They did find a beautiful necklace that Jennifer got to wear during their engagement session! Once they were back on the states they found the right ring together. Craig proposed to Jennifer at their while celebrating her birthday at their home. Craig cooked her Italian ragù meat sauce that they had learned how to cook in a cooking class they attended in Tuscany. He had gotten her a map that they could mark all of the places they have traveled and after spending quality time together day dreaming of al the places they could travel together he decided it was the perfect time to ask her to be his forever. It was a moment perfect for them and they were both so excited in the moment neither can really remember exactly what all was said! Their pups were so excited too that mom and dad would becoming officially family they were howling and jumping around during the moment.
We were originally all set to meet in Sedona for their engagement session, but since they are eloping in Page in the Spring we decided to go with a different look from the red rocks for their adventure engagement session. While they had been friends for several years and slowly morphed their relationship into more. Their official first date was actually at the Salt River so it worked out perfectly for their love story to shoot at this location. We hiked the Butcher Jones trail during their session. I love this trail for adventure engagement sessions in the Phoenix area because of the lake views, amazing sunset, view of Four Peaks mountain and abundance of cacti. It was so great getting to know these two during their session, hearing some of their favorite memories together, brain storming ideas for the epic elopement and more. I for sure left the session hungry from hearing about all of the amazing dishes these two cook up together and for each other!
I really can not wait for the Lake Powell elopement in April. You guys!! Just wait until you see Jennifer’s dress that her and Craig took a date day to pick out together! It is stunning. It is going to be a day filled with celebrating their love with their closest family members. I feel so blessed and honored to work with couples in helping them create a wedding day that fits their relationship. Not to mention getting to capture the connection they will share in these amazing places.
